Robert X. Cringley seems to think that Sun is going down. Slashdot is asking "What about Java?"... I guess its a slow news day.

Thornton Rose on Code Style

Nice "Style" tutorial by Thornton Rose on Developer.com's Java site (formerly Gamelan). Although I do not agree on all styling issues, his points are well made.

"Even Sun Can't Use Java"

Sensationalist Slashdot article: "Even Sun Can't Use Java". Supposedly it is a leaked, internal memo from Sun in which the author criticizes Java.

However, upon closer examination it seems that the author is criticizing the Solaris implementation of the JRE, which is causing grief for Sun engineers and integrators and does not enable them to use Java in projects for their clients, which naturaly run on Solaris(tm)...
